I have known John Ingold for more than 20 years. Our first association came about because we were both involved in Scouts Canada as leaders in a local group. We worked together in that capacity for over 10 years, and I came to regard John as a caring, fair man who inspired the youth with his enthusiasm, general knowledge, and a great sense of humour.

While managing a complex career in financial consulting, he always had time for family, friends, and community. My husband and I have become good friends with John and his wife Karen, who teaches in Ajax. I regard John as an open, generous, and ethical man who has always had time to listen and offer advice. I remember one time when I had to leave my son in his care when my husband injured himself on a ski hill. I did not even have to ask; he volunteered without thinking twice.

I could not think of a better person to take on the responsibility of being a school board trustee. He is one of the finest people I know.
